You may recognize Lauren Anderson, Miss July 2002, from the October 2001 Girls of the SEC pictorial, but she doesn’t think her previous modeling experience gave her an edge on the competition. “It had no bearing whatsoever,” Lauren says. “We were judged on the pictures that were shot during the show. I love being on camera and acting- it just comes naturally to me.” We don’t know if Miss Anderson can act, but she sure is a natural beauty ;)
2004 PMOY Carmella DeCesare took her share of crap in high school. “I was the girl everybody liked to tease,” she says. “Kids at that age are horrible and look for someone to pick on, and I guess I was it. I hadn’t grown up yet. I had big red-frame glasses and no style at all. My mom and my stepdad always told me, ‘Those boys who make fun of you are going to want to date you later.’ I never believed them, but now it’s my time to shine.” We couldn’t agree more. Growing up a stone’s throw from the beach has left Courtney Culkin with a deep appreciation for the aquatic life. “On weekends we take a boat out and go riding on a Jet Ski,” she says. “Then we drop anchor, lie out, blast music and dance on the bow of the boat. Playboy’s Miss September 2007 Patrice Hollis says she’s hell-bent on making it the honest way. In show biz, she says, she’s seen too many wannabes throwing themselves at rich men, trying to use sex to get to the next level. “I’m not that type of person, the one looking for an NBA player with all the jewels and money,” she says. “I try to stay humble and down-to-earth.” Okay Patrice, we’ll see how long that lasts.
Athena Lundberg, Miss January 2006, had so much confidence in her sex-appeal that it helped her win Playboy TV’s Sexy Girl Next Door contest. The competition was tight, but Athena’s stunning blue eyes and disarming smile blew the judges away. Her winning secret? “When you see paparazzi looking for a shot, start taking your clothes off!” she says. Works for us ;)

Okay, so Playboy’s Miss August 2005, Tamara Witmer may not be the brightest bulb in the batch, but who cares? Look at her! While appearing on a couple different VH1 reality shows, the Playmate came across as, well… a little dense. On “Rock of Love” she seemed spaced-out the entire time and even though she was the hottest chick on the show, couldn’t connect with has-been rocker Brett Michaels. Then on “I Love Money” she was the very first contestant to be eliminated. Oh well. Who needs brains when you look like Tamara does ;)
Jamie Westenhiser says she’s always been more comfortable hanging out with guys, something that’s given her clear ideas about men. “I want to be in a relationship with one person,” she says with an exaggerated pout. “I’m quiet and shy, so it’s hard for me to meet new people. I’ve had only two boyfriends in my life, and they were both very persistent. It took me a good month to finally go out on a date with them. I just want to make sure somebody’s serious before I get serious too. I don’t want to play games.” Sounds like a good girl to us ;)
Playboy’s Playmate of the Year for 2002 was the lovely Dalene Kurtis. Even though her boobage is enhanced, Dalene comes across as an all-natural girl next door type. She reminded Hef of the back in the day actress Doris Day so he chose her to be PMOY (and his girlfriend for a while). Her name is Colleen Shannon and she’s a stunning blonde who is also a popular DJ spinning records in major clubs all over the world. Holley Ann Dorrough, Playboy’s Miss April 2006 has an irresistible Southern charm that instantly impressed Hef. “I got on the guest list for the Midsummer Night’s Dream party and happened to be standing at the entrance when he walked in,” she says. “I said to him, ‘Hi, I’m Holley, and my pictures should be in your office. I’m your next Playmate.’ I just had to do it!”

Playboy’s Miss April for 2007 was Italian-born Giuliana Marino. She may be of Italian heritage, but she was raised in Deutschland. “I feel a bit schitzo,” she says in charmingly accented English. “When I go to Italy, I’m the German girl. And when I’m in Germany, I’m the Italian girl. Now when I’m in America, people don’t know what to make of me!”
